St. Paul Catholic School's Pre-Kindergarten Program is an accredited program for three and four-year old children. Choosing                                                                         the right Pre-Kindergarten program is an important decision, as a strong early learning environment can start your child on a                                                                         life-long path of academic and personal success. St. Paul's Pre-Kindergarten program can provide your child with the                                                                            knowledge and skills needs to be academically successful with a nurturing, faith-based environment. 

Eligibility
Children must be three or four-years of age by August 15, 2018.

Hours of Operation
St. Paul's Pre-K program operates from 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please note that children are not                                                                                 admitted earlier than 6:30 a.m. or kept after 6:00 p.m..

Class Size
Licensed for 13 students in each classroom with 1 teacher; 20 students in each classroom with 1 teacher and an aid.

Accreditation
St. Paul  Pre-Kindergarten is licensed by the Tennessee Department of Education and complies with all state and diocesan                                                                              policies regarding Pre-Kindergarten students having fun while developing academically. spirituality, socially, creatively,                                                                               and emotionally. 

St. Paul Pre-Kindergarten provides:

Social Development. Children are provided with ongoing opportunities to develop their social skills. Teachers model                                                                           appropriate problem-solving strategies and encourage the use of words to express thoughts and feeling. Group activities stress                                                                       the importance of sharing, cooperating and helping, following directions, and negotiating. 

Intellectual Development.
Our hands-on approach to learning places emphasis on developing language skills through                                                                                   listening, reading stories and poems, rhyming, dictating stories, phonetic games, dramatic plays, drawing, and skill repetition.                                                                Children develop skills as they are introduced to shapes, colors, sizes, sorting, measurement, counting, and numbers.                                                                               Children are encourages to observe, interact, explore, and problem-solve. 

Spiritual Development. Religious studies are integrated throughout the day. Children discover God as their Father and Jesus                                                                          as their friend. The children show their love to God through prayer, songs, and dramatic plays. Children become familiar                                                                              with various saints, bible stories, prayers, virtues, and liturgical seasons.

Emotional Development. Children are loved and encourages with words of praise and positive motivation. We develop a                                                                    mutually respectful relationship with each child, while creating an environment where children are happy and eager to learn. 

Physical Development. Children are provided with daily opportunities to develop their motor skills. Fine motor skills are                                                                            fostered through cutting, painting, manipulatives, puzzles, play-doh, etc. Large motor skills are developed through gym                                                                                class and outdoor play (weather permitting) through activities such as running, jumping, dancing, throwing, and skipping. 

Pre-Kindergarten Registration
St. Paul Pre-Kindergarten registration usually begins in February, yet we do accept early inquiries. A non-refundable                                                                           registration fee is due at the time of registration.

El Programa de Pre-Kindergarten de la Escuela Católica St. Paul es un programa acreditado para niños de tres y cuatro años.                                                                       Elegir el programa de prejardín de niños adecuado es una decisión importante, ya que un entorno de aprendizaje temprano                                                                         fuerte puede iniciar a su hijo en un camino de éxito académico y personal de por vida. El Programa de Pre-Kinder de San Pablo proporciona:

Desarrollo Social: Los niños reciben oportunidades continuas para desarrollar sus habilidades sociales. Los                                                                                           maestros modelan estrategias apropiadas para resolver problemas y alientan el uso de palabras para expresar                                                                                        pensamientos y sentimientos. Las actividades grupales hacen hincapié en la importancia de compartir, cooperar y ayudar,                                                                           seguir instrucciones y negociar.

Desarrollo intelectual: Nuestro enfoque práctico para el aprendizaje pone énfasis en el desarrollo de las habilidades del                                                                            lenguaje a través de escuchar, leer cuentos y poemas, rimar, dictar cuentos, juegos fonéticos, juegos dramáticos, dibujo y                                                                            repetición de habilidades. Los niños desarrollan habilidades a medida que se introducen en formas, colores, tamaños,                                                                         clasificación, medición, conteo y números. Se anima a los niños a observar, interactuar, explorar y resolver problemas.

Desarrollo espiritual: Los estudios religiosos se integran a lo largo del día. Los niños descubren a Dios como su                                                                                        Padre y Jesús como su amigo. Los niños muestran su amor a Dios a través de la oración, las canciones y las                                                                                                obras dramáticas. Los niños se familiarizan con varios santos, historias bíblicas, oraciones, virtudes y temporadas litúrgicas.

Desarrollo emocional: Los niños son amados y alienta con palabras de alabanza y motivación positiva.                                                                                            Desarrollamos una relación de respeto mutuo con cada niño, al tiempo que creamos un entorno en el que los niños                                                                                          están felices y ansiosos por aprender.

Desarrollo físico: Los niños cuentan con oportunidades diarias para desarrollar sus habilidades motoras.                                                                                                          Las habilidades motoras finas se fomentan a través del corte, pintura, objetos manipulables, rompecabezas, juegos, etc.                                                                                   Las habilidades motoras grandes se desarrollan a través de la clase de gimnasia y juegos al aire libre (si el                                                                                                     clima lo permite) a través de actividades como correr, saltar, bailar, lanzar y saltar.

Registro de Pre-Kindergarten 

El registro en St. Paul Pre-Kindergarten generalmente comienza en febrero, pero aceptamos consultas tempranas.                                                                                             Se debe pagar una cuota de inscripción no reembolsable al momento de la inscripción.
